Being from Michigan I remember when his father George was governor. He was a flip flopper from the word go and from I have seen and read about his son I see no difference. I will vote for him over Obama if he gets the nomination but I'm not too optimistic. I have heard that The President is salivating and licking his chops at the prospect of going against Romney. Remember that Romney Care was one of the models that Obama's team used to form Obama Care. That will be a thorn in Romney's side and the left will milk it dry. Lets see what happens by the time of my state primaries.

I do not want to have to vote for Romney in November; especially since McCain is backing him. Also, he is buying his election. I hope the press comes down on him hard. There are going to be some more changes before November and someone from behind may move to the top.
In the meantime, stay in touch with God, do His will and watch Him work to turn this country around. It will take a great number of Americans to turn back to God before He blesses this Nation again.

Well, once again the best qualified candidate is taken out in the first round of the MSM's Politics Theater. I guess she was actually take out long before now by the innuendo spread by everyone that was looking for her defeat. We already saw one candidate leveled by claims of sexual harassment and affairs that didn't slow impeached former President Bill Clinton from two terms of destruction in office. Now we have the Republican Elite Establishment dictating to the local parties who their candidate will be and like lemmings they fall in line to do the "Party's" bidding.

If it wasn't for the fact that Ron Paul has his own army of mind numbed robots to disrupt the Republican selection process we could watch him lose in another Libertarian bid for President where he belongs, but this year it's all about destruction of the GOP in whatever iteration of values it finds itself in. I think everyone agrees that if Ron Paul does not win the Republican Party nomination he will lead a new party to divide the right leaning vote, and the TEA Party will get the blame because he has claimed the mantle of titular leader of the TEA Party. After all, we are constantly reminded that he is the most constitutionally conservative candidate.

Is this what the TEA Party stands for? Was it only a gathering of malcontents that wanted to get out of paying their fair share of taxes, prodded on by the 1%? At this point we are failing in our main objective of reaching the "general populace" with a firm vision of true Constitutional government. Is it really so hard to get people to take a little responsibility for their own lives? These signs do not bode well for getting this nation to accept Constitutional limits on spending, regulation, and recognizing individual freedom.

I'm obviously upset because my favorite candidate didn't place, but I'm even more upset with people not getting the message and the TEA Party not getting the message out loud and clear to make it obvious that we are not "just like the occupiers". I don't think P.A.N. is having the desired effect among the registered users of building a solid movement, and the Paulist element has definitely disrupted the flow of electoral solidarity. Have we built any campaigns at the grass roots recently? Are we getting true Conservatives to run for office and standing behind them? Do we insist that respectable candidates can fight just as hard with the facts, or are we still stuck with the "Dirty campaigning" moniker when trying to fight our opponents based on their record?

I don't think I've seen anyone rightfully condemning one of our candidates for going too far against a fellow Republican, when the attack truly wasn't warranted. We already know about Newt Gingrich's wives and his infidelity and it is something we need to keep in mind, but how far do we have to go in knowing the details? I'm more interested in knowing if he'll ask Congress to write an amnesty bill for him to sign, or if he'll back "reasonable" new restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. We already know that's a strong possibility given his past record and his former personal behavior, but has he grown?

The one sure thing is that we don't have the luxury of a recent record to inform us as to any concrete changes. That's the great thing about someone who NEVER changes, you can always expect them to do what they've done in the past regardless of whether that's a good or bad thing. So, how will you choose among who's left? Are you looking for someone who has lived the everyday experience and come out better off for their experience with God's help, or do you want a savior? We already know the messiah of Socialism was the wrong choice for America, so who can lead us in our struggle to regain the freedom we have lost, and will it take a miracle or just some very hard work?

Why do you think Pelosi is going after Newt Gingrich ? Wake up people !!!! Newt Gingrich is the candidate they fear the most. He is the most qualified, the most presidential, and the best candidate to defeat Obama in 2012.
I WANT MY COUNTRY BACK !!!!!!!!!

No Surprise, Iowa Social Conservatives Are About To Shoot Us All in the Foot Again

Posted: 28 Dec 2011 01:02 PM PST

I’m hearing several campaigns and external pollsters have a surge for Rick Santorum. With the National Review folks fawning over him again, it probably means a surge is real and any surge by Rick Santorum is another factor ensuring Mitt Romney wins the nomination. (To be fair, this doesn’t look like real momentum)

Santorum has no money or organization outside of Iowa and cannot win the nomination, but Iowans love a guy who sucks up to them and makes sure they know he loves the babies.

As a pro-lifer myself, I have to throw up a bit in my mouth that Iowa conservatives are seriously considering Rick Santorum, which will only help Mitt Romney, a guy who even after his supposedly heartfelt conversion to life put some seriously pro-abortion judges on the Massachusetts bench hiding behind the “Well it was Massachusetts for Pete’s sake” defense.

Let’s remember Rick Santorum could not even win re-election in his home state of Pennsylvania.

Rick Santorum also supported Arlen Specter over Pat Toomey in the U.S. Senate back in 2004.

But most damning to me is Rick Santorum’s actual record in the Senate and House of Representatives. I keep hearing him say he was such a paragon of fiscal conservative virtue, when he was anything but that. He was as go along to get along as all the other Republicans who led to our downfall.

Making Santorum worse, he was always the guy saying, “I had to do this, but wait till I get to leadership. I’ll be there for you in leadership.” It’s what he is saying now. Only it isn’t true and never was.

He supported steel tariffs in Pennsylvania, which did him little good in his own re-election effort.

He supported No Child Left Behind.

He supported the prescription drug benefit.

He supported the Bridge to Nowhere. In fact, according to Club for Growth, “Santorum had the audacity to vote to continue funding the Bridge to Nowhere rather than send the money to rebuild New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.”

Santorum decided, after leaving Congress, to oppose earmarks, but he sure did love them while he was there. He voted against the Farm Bill in 2002, but he voted to extend milk subsidies to save the poor Pennsylvania farmer.

In the House, Santorum opposed NAFTA and offered legislation to impose steel tariffs. He wanted to tax imported honey and Chinese imports.

Throughout his career, Santorum has tried to have it both ways. For example, as the Club For Growth documents

He voted NO on raising the minimum wage in 1995 and 2005. But on the same day he voted NO in 2005, he sponsored an amendment that would increase the minimum wage, which he later boasted about to skeptical voters in a 2006 campaign brochure he released called “50 Things You Didn’t Know About Rick Santorum.”

In other words, the Santorum I have observed for a decade is the Rick Santorum on the campaign trail now — a guy trying to have it both ways through too clever by half stunts like voting against the minimum wage while authoring a bill to raise the minimum wage so no one can pin him down on his record.

Rick Santorum is more conservative than Mitt Romney. He is a strong social conservative and has taken a lot of bullets from the left because of his stand. But he is not as strong a fiscal conservative as he claims and the real issue here is social conservatives in Iowa risk Mitt Romney’s election by supporting a guy who cannot get traction or money outside of Iowa.

Rick Santorum will not be the nominee. That’s the reality. But his rise hurts Bachmann, Gingrich, and Perry in Iowa — all of whom have better organizations and better shots beyond Iowa.

I still hold out hope for Michele Bachmann. I pray she'll stay in the race. I've always seen her as the top tier, true conservative candidate that, if we could get enough critical mass going, it would force the media to cover her. More Americans would then see, that she's strong, extremely intelligent, plain-spoken and genuine. I can't think of a single issue that I've found her lacking to be the best conservative in the race. (Oh, and she's beautiful!)
There's just something about Rick Santorum that I can't warm up to in the same way. For one thing, it wasn't any of the Ricks that I saw every time I traveled to DC to meet this firebrand patriot, Michele on the steps of the Capitol to fight Obamacare, Cap and Tax, Obama's stimulus, illegal immigration, the Fed, the debt, etc.
Also, I heard RicK Santorum say this week state in an interview that he voted for the Medicare Part D, (the completely unfunded drug plan boondoggle), and "No Child Left Behind" while he was in Congress and his explanation that "there were parts of it that he liked." Those are the same disconcerting words that I've heard from Newt and my own liberal GOP Congressman Walter Jones (R -barely), when asked why he voted for Dodd-Frank? or supported Charlie Rangel about his ethics charges. These are not little mistakes. They show a lack of basic conservative and ethical principles. You don't unleash a huge new unfunded entitlement program and expect to tweak it into something better or because you liked something else it delivered. In Walter's case, you don't look the other way on all of the arrogant, tax-cheating behavior of a colleague because he perhaps started out as a war veteran/patriot years ago. Michele Bachmann has demonstrated holding to first principles in Congress. Can we count on Rick Santorum to do the same? We need to keep Bachmann in this race to continue to fight the progressive assault from the left and the right.

Good for Rick--He and Bachmann are the only true conservatives! I hope he really surges ahead of Romney, Ron Paul and stays ahead of the snake Gingrich and we don't want to leave out the twin Bush --Rick Perry!! Most of us are up on these candidates and know their faults but some of us are too hung up on our pride and are picking the wrong candidates. Some no doubt voted for Obummer in 2008 and perhaps again picking the wrong candidates!! Wake Up America!!!!
